Forefather was created by brothers Athelstan and Wulfstan in September 1997 and they remain the only members to this day. The plan was to write heroic, true and proud songs based on their fondness for their Anglo-Saxon heritage and the honourable times of old. Immediately song-writing began for what was planned to be a debut full-length album and by August 1998 recording was ready to start. The result was the now much-praised "Deep Into Time". After some delay it was officially released on the 22nd March 1999 by their own label Angelisc Enterprises and Forefather quickly gained a name for itself on the global Metal underground. The current album 'The Fighting Man' finds the band exploring more traditional metal styles as well as bringing in more subtler vocals.
