Bleak, cold Black Metal sounding like early Burzum and Dark Throne. [ many bands have tried to imitate the sound of these bands but none outside Norway have managed to achieve it so coherently than the London based Old Forest]. The band were formed in 1998 by Kobold [vocals, synth], Beleth [guitars, bass] and Lord Grond [Drums]. The band were signed by cult British Black Metal label Mordgrimm and released the debut album ‘Into The Old Forest’ in 2000. The band rarely do interviews and proudly proclaim to uphold the ethics of True Cult Black Metal which is a term reserved for the early Norwegian bands. The second album ‘None More Black ‘The Second Coming’ is more refined in that the songs embrace a more melodic tone, although still very much bathed in the chill of the ice bound peaks of Norway.
